I would like to send a shout out to Lianne at About.com's Exotic Pets section. Thanks darlin' for promoting fuzzle and San Diego Pet Adoption.
So my computer is in the computer hospital for a few days. le sigh!Unfortunately this means no new pix for a few days as well.
In the meantime...
Check the Fuz Calendar. Click on the blue button to check out the upcoming local adoption events. If you are looking for a fuzzle then ye shall find one.
Also... Chatting with my good buddy Sarah at the San Diego Humane Society yesterday, I found out that Simba, our kitty Fuzzle from Monday's post, has been adopted. Hooray!

Lay some tracks to these fuztastic friends of your future.
Finlay the wonder pig is ready for a new adventure Adopt him at San Diego Humane Society I am Seriously in luv with this guinea pig. He is so very Indiana Jones in his merry rompings. Totally curious happy little piggy.
Whoever scores Finlay le magnifique is a lucky peep. Simba the superkitty rockin' his stately senior good looks Adopt this love fuz at San Diego Humane Society
Simba is a serious cutey patootie. Somebody bring this lover man home.
So if there is anybody left out there who did not melt into a puddle from this weekend's heat - consider taking a trip to the San Diego Humane Society. It's all indoors so you can beat the heat whilst finding a fuzzle.
Jet - 1 year old Male Corgi / Dachshund mix Smiley! Adopt him at United Hope for Animals Popped over for a chat with the folks from United Hope for Animals when I was hangin' at le adoption fair. I had not met them before and was super impressed by their two front fuzzle tactic. They not only rescue pets for adoption futures their group has monthly Tijuana spay & neuter clinics in conjunction with Mexican Animal Welfare group AVPCA in which 40 to 50 animals can be treated at a time.
They rock.
Give up the luv to this group and help them get to their goal of weekly spay & neuter events. Check out how you can help on their Support Page
Craig from United Hope for Animals pointed the Fuz Compass to another group workin' that stitch in time. The Give Some Life Foundation mounts No Cost Spay & Neuter Campaigns to the Baja area. I am feelin' the warm fuzzies for these groups & their efforts.
I am out for now. If you are lookin' for weekend attractions check out the "Fuz Calendar" and if you are lookin' for seaside entertainment check out the Chula Vista Nature Center. They have a special free public debuting of their new exhibits at 11:00 am today (Saturday).
Last Saturday when I was hangin' at the Petco Adoption Extravaganza in Del Mar I got to check out some sweet spaniels lookin' for their new casa de happy. Katie the Spaniel hangs with good friend from Spaniel Rescue Family I remember on a day 3 or 4 years ago, when I had just finished photographing some dogs at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility for the UT Pet Page, that I met a nice lady named Peggy who told me she had just started a rescue group. The name of that rescue group was....
San Diego Spaniel Rescue Congratulations on a great job these last many years since our first intro. Thanks to all you folks puttin' in the personal time to keep the fuzzle flow du luv.
They have a couple of events coming up that you can track with the "Fuz Calendar". If you would like to meet Maggie Mae, Danny Boy, or other adoptable spaniels — come on down to the Petco Linda Vista on Sat. July 22 from 11-2pm at 1210 West Morena Boulevard.
If you are interested in some serious hawaiian fuz fun look into their upcoming benefit party. The Spaniel Annual Affair 2006
Looks like lucky Taquita the LuvFuz has found a new home since I met her on Saturday.
If you are lookin' for some everluvin' Labrador Fuzzle time tune in tomorrow.

They might just steal ya heart before yer kin stop 'em.
Rowena & Tosca (AKA- Fuz Cassidy & the Sundance Pig) - 2 year old Bonded Pair Adopt them at Wee Companions
So if yer not lookin' fer the biggest toad in the puddle, consider the benefits of an ever luvin' Cavy or other Small Fuzzle such as...
Vinny (AKA- Calamity Fuz) - 2 year old Male chinchilla. Easy to hold - Nice personality. Adopt him at Wee Companions
See y'all tomorow when we check out spaniels, spaniels, & more spaniels.
Ruby the German Shorthaired Pointer - GSP Rescue success story
humor may suddenly cleanse and cool the earth, the air and you. -Langston Hughes
That's how Fuzzle is on these hot days & wacky times. I highly recommend a dose of Fuzzle Friends to meet the humor needs.
I was reminded of that quote when I encountered the briefest of rain yesterday and was so surprised to see it that my entire day shifted to something slightly better.
Anywho...
Kemmy - 4 Year old Female German Shorthaired Pointer. She needs your luvin - Adopt her at GSP Rescue
Hung out with the folks from the Southern California GSP Rescue the other day. First time meeting them and they did not disappoint. Not only did I meet potential adoptable GSPs but a number of success story adoptions showed up to support the group.
Kathy & John with GSP's Whitney & Shawna
Gotta luv a happy ending like John & Kathy adopting Shawna the GSP. Shawna had some major dog aggression and confidence issues coming out of an abused puppyhood. She was on the brink of being unadoptable when these folks fostered her and brought her 'round to a manageable and happy life with them and their other dogs.
Bear - 4 year old Male German Shorthaired Pointer. Suavecito! Adopt him at GSP Rescue Ruby (top image) was Le tubby Fuzzle when Greg from GSP started fostering. He got her into great shape and lookin' perky. By that point love had bloomed so Ruby became a permanent member of Casa de Greg. Fiona (right image) had a tuf start in an abandoned box sans luv & affections but now this Bassett / GSP mix shines and even gets to visit her bro' on play dates. So... Thanks to the GSP folks I met for the good treatment and good stories.
Let a little humor into your life with Kemmy or Bear as the catalyst. A little summer rain never felt so good.
Sparks - 1 year old Male Satin Abyssinian / Himalayan mix Adopt at Wee Companions
Ran into the Wee Team whilst perusing the adoption fair at Petco's Via De la Valle store. This group always puts a smile on the face.
I think it is fair advice to keep a guinea pig foto stashed somewhere for when you are feelin' blue. A few peeks at those cheeky mugs and it is hard to not feel a wee bit better.
Anywhoo...
Didja know that guinea pigs are born precocial? In other words they are born ready to Rock! They have all their hair, teeth, claws, and their peepers are open. The first time I saw a very young guinea pig was while hangin' at the San Diego Humane Society. Fenella from Wee Companions had brought them by and let me hold one for a mo'. Check out these recently born Fuzzles.
I know that it is totally indulgent to go for the puppy pix but somedays ya just gotta go wit' it. This lil' Fuz Ball comes from FOCAS . There were a fair number of pups when I visited FOCAS at their Balboa Park adoption event last Sunday. It was a capacity crowd hangin' around that pupple pen. I think these guys will be doin' all right.
Let us consider how such a cutey pie could have come around—
Put your everluvin' Fuzzle Friendly hands together for...
Momma Doggies!!!
Sage - 2.5 year old Female Retriever mix with FOCAS Super sweet momma doggy lookin' for her new home Lalah - 1.5 year old Female American Indian Dog mix with FOCAS. She really is a Fantastic Fuzzle. (momma to pup in top pic)
The gals will be spayed before they are adopted out.
But of course, But of course
Gotta take a moment to thank the folks over at Doggiewoggie Blog for sending a rockin' shoutout to Fuzzle. Thanks guys for the kind mention.
Also on the thank you radar — I have added a section at the bottom of Fuzzle's sidebar to recognize the kind folks who have taken the time / effort to put links to Fuzzle Blog in their regular links roster. Thanks for helping to spread the Fuzzle word to Near und Far.
It's Gettin Hot in Here - So take off with your Fuz...
And hit the local dog friendly parks of San Diego. Use this (ParksLink) to access a list of San Diego Doggy Zones.
Consider adding a new Fuzzle buddy to take upon such summery excursions.
por ejemplo...
You can tell that Coco the PitBull Mix is luvin' some Park Time with her Super FOCAS San Diego Buddy Carol.
Coco chilaxin in sporty style. Luvs It!
Coco is a 2 year old sweet luvin puppy dog that is a Katrina survivor looking for some help in finding a new home.
She is with FOCAS San Diego. They are having an adoption event at the Encinitas Petsmart tomorrow (Saturday). Swing by if you are interested. This Fantastic Fuzzle really needs her new home — reduce the Katrina Homeless tally by one.
Good Morning Fuzzle brings you... Dawn - 8 year old Female Boxer.
Dawn is with Critter Crossings and is a real mellow luv bug. I met her on Saturday and she was taking all the mini-mall buzz like a walk in the park. Bring on the adoption lurv for this canine cupcake.
Dawn is part of the Critter Crossings Senior Rescue Retirement Program sponsored by Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund. The low down is that if you are 65 years or older you could qualify to have Dawn's adoption fee waived.
The dogs that qualify for this program are seniors older than 8 if small breed & older than 4 if large breed.
Which means (drum roll please) that yesterday's Fuzzle star Rio is also eligible.
I also met up with my friends at FCIA on Saturday. They always have many delights in the wee fuzzles category. Here are a couple for your adoption option...
Petey - 3 year old Male Chi with calm disposition. Poor buddy was wacked by a car and is healed but still fragile.
Violet - 6 year old Female Chi (did not have a link yet but is with FCIA)
Check the FUZ Calendar for upcoming FCIA adoption events.
and as the old song kinda' goes...
Everybody loves somefuzzy sometime and although my dream was overdue your love made it well worth waiting for some fuz like you
Meet Rio - A 5 year old Female Border Collie mix. Beautiful & luv's the active life
She is being fostered with Critter Crossings - a most excellent group that I got to meet for the first time on Saturday at an adoption event in Encinitas.
Julie, Diana, Stephanie, & Tami hangin' with Randall the Shitzu and Pups
These gals are the Charlies Angels of fostering so stop by and meet them at their next adoption event on August 5th at the Pet People in Encinitas.
Out for now. Will post more Critter Crossing & FCIA lovelies this afternoon.
Wags for Wishes [or] How Fuzzle got its Groove Back - Part Deux
Young Contestant Prepping with some Fuzzle Love
Hello Fuzzle Fans. Time has come for Wags II - Return of the Fuzzle.
I made a good round of the adoption village while I was hangin' on Friday morning. One of the first doggy luv's on the radar came from our good buddies up in the ESC. Put your hands and adopting hearts to... Sparky - 3 year old Male Dalmation / Pitbull mix
Go check him out at the Escondido Humane Society. Nice group of folks who have a barbecue coming up on Sat. July 22. You are invited! check out Fuz Calendar for time & location.
I also took some time to saunter over to my buddies over at SNAP. Patty & Cara holdin' down the SNAP fort.
Got the scoop that there will be an o' so fuzzle fun SNAP function this fall booked at the Belly-Up with misc. shenanigans for your partying pleasure - stay tuned. Also, I will soon be adding Neuter Scooter appearance days to the Fuz Calendar.
anywho...
Time for some greater fuzzle investigation. Prime Fuzzle suspects showing all signs of elevated cuteness levels and intention to snuggle...
If you are interested in these luvly fuzlies contact Pit Bull Rescue San Diego. They will take good care of you.
Josie & Casey the Spaniel hangin' tuf at the Noah's Wish Booth
Another cool booth I checked out at Wags for Wishes was the Noah's Wish Group Booth. I did not know about this group and they are definitely out there walkin' the walk during a time of so many disaster areas in the USA. They were handing out informative fliers that outlined Basic Disaster planning for animals in your care. All sorts of interestin' stuff. They took care of a load of animals during the Southern California fires of a few years ago and managed care of over 2000 animals during the Katrina wacky times. An interesting group with interesting methods to dealing with maddening times. I am sure I will be reporting more on their coolness at a future time.
Jen doing the everluvin' snoopy dance with her bag o' litter
Last but probably least I have to post a photo of myself looking ridiculously happy because I won a big bag o' kitty litter in the PetCo spin da' wheel fundraiser. I was so excited that I gave away my other two prizes. You see I am a fool for this brand of cat litter - World's Best. I have tried a bazillion litters on my 15 year old cat through his 15 years and this one wins by a large margin. The only thing is that it is way spendy so... Thank You PetCo for putting a big smile on my face and putting my money in the Make - a - Wish foundation's pocket. That is what I call Win Win.
Stay Tuned for Tuesday smiles with cute seniors from Critter Crossings & tiny luvins from FCIA.
Wags for Wishes [or] How Fuzzle got its Groove Back
Popped over to Wags for Wishes on Friday morning. I definitely recommend going if you are a fuzzle fan and I definitely recommend going early because by 10:00 am on a Friday that place was already bizzy to the max.
Today is the last day of a 3-day fest. If you did not have a previous plan for renewing your fuzzle factor and enjoying some primo people / fuzzle watching... then you do now.
The Adoption Village area is adjacent to the entrance for the whole shebang. This is also a good place to hang out if you get overheated, as there are some fantastic shady glen zones to be had here.
Sweet SD Humane puppy gettin' his silly on!
I have tons to report and Many Adoptable fuzzles to show but breakfast calls. Stay tuned this afternoon for further Wags luv.
Just a quick reminder that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 - 5 is open Fuzzle time at the Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter. Go check out Miko & pals. The shelter is open to the public - just remember to have your license, reg, proof o' insurance ready for entering the Base.
Also...
In the daily pursuit of Maximum Fuzzle Adoption luv... I have created a Calendar of Local Pet Adoption Events using google calendar. To access just click on the blue button in the sidebar that reads "Fuz Calendar". A new window will pop open with a google calendar that shows July's events. You have the option of viewing it in Month mode or Agenda mode. The Agenda mode is a little bit easier to read in my opinion. If you are interested in a particular event, click on it and receive a brief description and location information.
If you are a local Shelter / Rescue Group that has an event coming up that you would like to have listed on the calendar - Contact Me
Babe - 7 year old Female Lab fostered with FOCAS San Diego. Sweet gal.

FOCAS is holding their monthly Balboa Park event this Sunday the 9th from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. I have been to their Park adoption shindigs a bazillion times and it is always mellow and fun. The group sets up right next to the House of Pacific Relations and International cottages at the end of President's way. Balboa Park Adopt-A-Pet Link

Melrose le Pup & Super Foster Mom at Pit Bull Rescue adoption event
Have a few additions to the Fuzzle Fête...
Fuzzle's sidebar now includes a number of chicklets (link buttons) to help you subscribe to this blog if you would prefer to read it in that format. If you are wondering what the hoozit I am talkin' about... take a mo' to read the "Feed 101" intro at the Feedburner website - (link).
Also new to the Fuzzle sidebar is a link to the San Diego Pitbull Rescue. I do not know how I managed to create a local links list without these guys. Mis queridas Amigas!
Gotta love folks taking on the big stuff. There never seems to be relief for the pit bull but these guys do their part to work that Fuzzle Luv!
Sweetie Julie is blind but it looks like she is feelin' the Luv from Foster Mama.
If you would like to meet this adoption group in person - swing by their booth at Wags for Wishes, the largest and most comprehensive dog show on the West Coast, July 7th thru the 9th at the Del Mar Horse Park. I plan to swing by on Friday for a little early bird special - I think that carting is the special sport du jour. Admission is $5.00 for big folk & free for the wee ones under 12.
Guiness el Fuz showing some puppy fuzzle lurv during SD PitBull rescue adoption event.
and finally...
What is it like to "hear" a hand?

Valentine - Sweet 11 mo old Male Love Machine. Hearing Impaired and responding enthusiastically to sign language training.
Have fun on the fourth. If you have Fuzzles in your home & are worried about le crash et boom... check this site for pet + fireworks info.
Good Weekend to you Fuzzle searchers. If you are on a seek & adopt mission this weekend why don't you consider looking to the North County where you will find a bunker of luv otherwise known as...
Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter - a great place to look for a fuzzle friend. Currently they are open Friday through Sunday and the public is welcome.
