So I popped over to the Helen Woodward Animal Center Second Annual Surf Dog event last Sunday. [link]
Things have been kinda intense lately so surfing doggies was defo’ on the list of things to help my hee haw!
Always a good time when you are laughing and have yer toes in the water.
Many of the pups were ready to rock it
some were checking the break…
Others were so laid back in their surfin’ styles…
this bystander doggy looks like he is thinking – are you sure you know what yer doin’ buddy?!
and then of course you have yer rock god o’ da waves…
Buddy le surf pooch just knows how to handle the action.
and then he manages to get lovely ladies n’ others to get him back out. (while he barks in enthusiasm the whole time) what a player!
his boogie board option is all chewy from his enthusiastic “get me out there” chompings!
but he does know how to share the fun…
Bandit got a ride in with Buddy but also rocked it on his own…
As did these awesome surf puppies…
The fuzzy surfers had a pretty good audience. I think there was almost twice as many people as last year! Seeing as this is only the second time the event has happened – I think next years gonna be huge!
Even though it was well attended people were having a pretty mellow time. It was great seeing folks really happy & totally enjoying the coast.
As always there were surf instructors for the newbies…
and helping hands from their humans…
There were wipeouts…
and wiggles…
and fun interspecies wave riding…
Defo’ an event to get back to next year!
