Times-R-Tuff

I know that times are tuff right now. Lots of folks are dealing with lots o' stuff. One of the things that people are dealing with is losing not only their homes but their pets as well. This is not an easy situation for anyone and can be beyond depressing.

I have noticed that one way to help beat the blues is to feel like you are an integral part of something positive. There are so many pets out there that can be helped by your inner volunteer. There are so many different ways to help.

During the next series of blog posts I am going to be listing local Pet Rescue and Shelter's volunteer needs and orientation days.
Just figuring that this is a big county and I know that it can be easier to dedicate time when you don't have to travel as far. There are opportunities all over town and maybe I can help point y'all to some of them.

But before we get to the volunteer selections of the day...

Let's pause to appreciate the smoochy twosome that is known as...

Big Guy & Big Girl - These two lovely kittys are obviously bonded buddies. Big Girl is missing a leg but gets around quite well. They are a wee bit shy at first but get to snuggling pretty quickly.
Adopt them at San Diego Humane Society. [link]
and now onto the volunteering opportunities...
If you have experience with HTML / Website creation & updating then the House Rabbit Society could use a hand with their new website. If you would like to lend a hand or find out more about what they need - contact Judith [email link]
North County Humane Society will be having a volunteer orientation on Sat. March 8th from 11am - 1pm. To register call the volunteer coordinator @ 760-757-4357 x1244 or go to [link]
Volunteering can be a very empowering experience and one that could help during a time when things might be falling apart.
In the words of Dodie Smith (the gal that wrote The Hundred and One Dalmatians)...
Noble deeds and hot baths are the best cures for depression.
