The Blob [or] Boggy Doggy

I received an email on Monday from the folks at FIDO San Diego [link] indicating that there was some nasty bit o' trash washing up in the Fiesta Island area. Be careful to keep your pups out of da poopy water zone.

The text of email as sent...

"Please know that I would personally advise folks considering taking their dogs to Fiesta Island, not to allow their animals on the shoreline. I was there again last evening taking photos of the junk washing in and I am worried that the animals may want to eat, sniff and roll in the muck. I am very concerned about this and how it could impact the health of the animals. Even though closure signs are posted for the water, folks may not realize that this stuff is on the shoreline as well."
