woolly, yes! wild…not so much.  I interacted with a group of four lovely little ladies that Aussie Rescue of San Diego chose from the Devore shelter (San Bernadino).

Aussie Rescue has been helping the pups’ personalities blossom by utilizing positive training methods. The pups were initially unsure of human interaction and have been learning very quickly that there is love and fun to be had with people.

All four of them are female and they will soon be ready to meet their future companions…

Napolean -  Sweet Corgi / Aussie ? boy that has picked up a new set of wheels. I saw him running along a field with his wheels and he could get along really well. Even with the new mobility and happy-go-lucky attitude there are a lot of considerations for the person that brings Napolean to their family. The Coronado Animal Care Facility was formally opened today. The opening of the ~3400 sq foot Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design building is also the end of many years being located in the Police Department basement. Do not get me wrong… they had a reasonable  space down there but very little traffic since people had to be escorted to the basement for access. The new facility is right next to the Coronado Ferry Landing (1st & A) and will probably get a ton of visitors. It will be interesting to track the continued evolution of this facility. PAWS of Coronado  played a large part in the creation of this facility and they will continue to function as the adoption coordinators.

Hope -  1yr old Beagle/Basenji/Hound/ n’ more. This happy-go-lucky athletic girl has a unique face that does not hold her back at all. She eats, drinks, & barks fine without her mandible. She showed up as a stray with a rubber band embedded in her face that was holding her mouth together. The lower jaw was in a state of necrosis so it was removed. She has been really opening up while in foster and although she is still a bit wary of men and young children – she does enjoy a good party…

She made it down to the Spring Fling Doggies & Singles mixer hosted by Hotel Indigo and brought together by Dogtown San Diego, Leash Your Fitness, & Pawtopia with proceeds going to SNAP San Diego. The Hotel Indigo has Canine & Cocktail events often so be on the lookout ! They have another one coming up on May 4th – here is the City Dog {link}

Fiona  -  Princess Fiona is about 4.5 months old & ready to be yer lady love.
I can’t believe that this baby girl is not adopted yet! Somebody is going to be a lucky winner with this gal – she was 100% sugar, spice, and everything nice during her photo shoot.

Clifford – I met this kitty / panther mix at the Pt Loma Petsmart the other day. He is magnificent !! I have rarely seen such a stark white cat have quite this panther-like build. He had a mellow & sweet disposition and had not been at the adoption center very long and OMG I think he just looked at me!!!!!!! swoon. I am already green jealous of the person that takes this guy home!
