I met her the other day and she did a great job in front of the camera. Mr. Duncan is out and about.


He squiggled away while at the Vet's office and is on the loose.

He was last seen at Mission Gorge and Golfcrest Dr. by the Mission Trails Regional Park.

He might look a wee bit scary because someone cropped all of his ears off when he was a wee pup but he is very affectionate.

The good folks at PitBull Rescue [link] are super worried about their frightened foster fuzzle. He is microchipped and can be unsure with other dogs.

Tinkerbell - This wee fairy is a 3 month old pitbull gal. I met her on Saturday and she is quite the charmer. Hugs for everbody! She has a couple of siblings (Tigger and Jiminy) that are very sweet as well. They are all adoptable through Pitbull Rescue San Diego. [link]

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

So I returned this year to the San Diego Fair for some hang time at the Pitbull Rescue San Diego booth. They were schedule for last Friday and this year they brought along a mascot.

Bo - This 6 month old Pitbull / Pointer mix was a joy to be around. He handled his mascot duties with flying colors. This wee fella must have met a few hundred people that day (lots of them kids) and was personality plus!



I showed up around noonish and he was just winding down from the morning rush so we set him up in a corner zone for a wee nap.

There were so many kids checking out the Agrifair - it was kinda hi-larious. I think everyone was on overdrive from fair food / sunny day / I'm not at work or school vibe (except for the folks chaperoning large groups of kids - they had the eagle eye / serious work vibe going on)



As soon as Bo would get up from a nap he was all about being a social butterfly!

It was funny to see some folks get a peek of him from across the room and beeline over to say hello.



After awhile this lil' buddy was ready for one more nap...


And then after a good cuddle with his lobster buddy he was all " Where's the party y'all!"



As the afternoon came around people were losing their energy a bit but were still totally stoked to check out the pages of pictures of adoptable dogs available and say hi to Bo.

Doggy Dash - Part Deux

Saturday was the rise n' shine fun time at the Chula Vista Doggy Dash!
Proceeds from the event went to H.E.A.R.T. (this is the non-profit organization that assists the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility in providing care for thousands of pets) [link]

I popped in at a little past 8:00 am & the joint was already jumpin'.

There were all sorts of great vendor booths and rescue groups in attendance.



I started out saying hello to the folks with Greyhounds 2 Go. [link]


They had a bunch of adoptable fuzzles hanging out showing their true "lap dog" nature. Here we have Hope & Rego (both 5 years old) practicing the fine art of lap balancing.

The oh so awesome Neuter Scooter was there. SNAP holds regular Spay & Neuter clinics in Chula Vista and have Spayed & Neutered over 10,000 pets in San Diego. They have a Fundraiser Golf Tournament coming up this summer (more info tomorrow). If you like to golf you should definitely check it out! [link]

Greyhounds were Definitely in the house!

When this rockstar enters the building you take notice. His charm & charisma works like a spell over those that meet him! He was there to show off the awesome attributes of the greyhound and I think he was doing a pretty good job. [link]

the Cute comes out n' gets me again!

This time it is via Stoney the Siamese ratty who is up for adoption with Wee Companions. They had an awesome group of wee adoptables available that day. If you are looking for Ratty Buddies with great temperaments - ya gotsta check in with them! [link]

Julie the Guinea Pig! If y'all have been reading this blog for awhile - You know I gots love for the piggies! Wee Companions always has a fantastic assortment and I noticed quite a few youngster piggies there also. [link]

So by this point the racers have started to line up and the big start is just minutes away. There is just enough time for the competitors to sniff out the competition and size up who might be coming home with the gold...


And then they're off!

Whilst the athletes were doing their exercise thang I swooped back over to my good buddies at Pit Bull Rescue San Diego to get a few glamour shots going.

Cassie - This lil' Terrier mix is lovin' life. She is blind and takes it in good stride with a casual air. She defo' knows how to snuggle as exemplified below...

After the race was run there was time for Pet Blessings.

and just general fun in the sun and doggy watching...


I think the one on the left looks like Eric Estrada.

The Chula Vista Police Canine Unit put on a demonstration of one of their doggy officers at work. It was a good thing that everyone was holding their doggies leads because the dogs got way amped up when the center doggy was showing its stuff. It was totally intense!

There were sooo many folks hanging out in front of the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility's booth that I just could not get a clear shot. But that is awesome! I think they got some really good response that day! They were taking pictures of all the race participants, handling licensing, fielding questions, setting up interactions, n' more. [link]

You Can't Judge a Fuzzle by it's Cover...

Kaz - I have met Kaz on a number of occasions and she is a delightfully demure little lady fuzzle. What I did not know is that there is a whole extra fun & frolicky story to this young Chihuahua / Pitbull mix. A volunteer with the foster group she is with (Pitbull Rescue San Diego) took the opportunity to capture some videos of the youngster romping with her foster mom.

Kaz has some nerve damage that occured when she was young and has limited vision but that does not seem to put a dent in her stride when she is in frolic mode.

Bianca - The lovely lassy that was found calloused n' worn is blooming into a mellow luv bug that can now know the comfort of a soft bed. When I first met her she gave me the little " will you be my friend?" Sweet/Sad eyes and lifted her paw towards me to initiate contact. I think you should meet her too. So it sounds like Congress just passed some legislation that will give enforcement agencies the tools to dissolve the network of animal fighting that is experienced in the country.

Strider is an adorable smiley tabby that I saw available for adoption at the Friends of Cats in El Cajon. If you are looking for a cat to adopt it is really worth the trip out there. They are Great!

I stopped by Muttropolis (luv this store) on Saturday to check out their Valentine Smooch-a-Pooch event. I showed up after the fun smoochy booth was over but still got a chance to hang with the awesome ladies of SNAP and check out the adoptables from Chula Vista Animal Care Facility.
There were adoptions that went through that day (yay!) and the sweet pupples that have pix in this post are still available.

Kellogg - I noticed this wee waggler when I stopped by Pit Bull Rescue's Valentine Adoption Event yesterday. She's teeny weeny but will be the valentine smoochy for this post. Have you ever thought of fostering? This group has some great dogs ready for foster homes. Hmmmmm let's take that "Be Mine" to heart this Valentine's day.
